I've recently discovered the I-TASSER programm and i'm currently trying to set it up under Ubuntu 12.10 (4x2GHz i7 2600qm)
While I was still fixing the bugs with help from the forum, I noticed, that the programm was using only one CPU-core (of 4).
when I run I-TASSER the programm uses only one Core at 100% while the others are idling at 3%-5%.
the active used core changes in random intervalls every 60 sec.
(from CPU1-->CPU4-->CPU2 etc.)
My question: Does I-TASSER not support multi-cores and is it normal for the script to create only one thread? My calculations (although the programm isn't finally working jet) take forever and I hope it is possible to speed this up.
Any help or thoughts for my problem would be much appreciated
